Pincushion
Escobaria vivipara ssp. deserti
- Full sun to part shade
- Cold hardy to 0 degrees
- Between 2" and 8" in height
Small and tidy cactus that is usually single-headed and occasionally multi-headed.
This elusive cactus is most often discovered when we walk right over it. It has surprising pale yellow to rosy pink flowers in late spring, and makes an excellent addition to rock gardens near pathways. It also does very nicely in a pot. In our personal collection, we have a pot with five Pincushions arranged together, and it is very healthy and looks great!
