Cactus Rescue on Facebook
Cactus Rescue is an informational website dedicated to providing residents of the southwest United States with information about cacti and yuccas in the Mojave Desert. Throughout this website, you will get ideas on what type of cacti and yuccas to use in your landscape and hopefully give you an appreciation for Mojave Desert Natives.
Joshua Tree and Mojave Yucca.
To most people, Joshua Trees are a symbol of the Mojave Desert. Many people aren't familiar with the Joshua's sister yucca, the Mojave Yucca. Mojave Yuccas are found at lower elevations, often within the greater Las Vegas city limits, making them perfect for planting in local landscapes. This trunked yucca forms family clusters in the wild which we have successfully recreated in the landscape. It produces creamy white flowers on stalks in the spring. This is an excellent addition to any landscape, no matter the size - small individual yuccas add interesting sculpture and elevation to front yards and large groupings become focal pieces in landscape-scale projects.
